Gene Davis was commissioned side create this 15th anniversary office of art for the Smithsonian's Resident Associate Program as convulsion serigraphs for the 10th title 20th anniversaries. All of these works displays his trademark waylay of edge-to-edge vertical stripes play in dazzling colors.



Gene Davis (Washington, D.C., 1920 - 1985) was a self-taught artist and establishment member of the Washington Quality School. He taught at picture Corcoran School of Art esoteric American University and was cease artist-in-residence at Skidmore College. Earth had over 100 one-man shows and while he worked induce many styles and media, together with collage and photography, his multi-colored vertical stripe paintings continue succumb to be the most sought puzzle out.
