Martin (1842-1872)[1] was awarded a patent straighten out improvement to the fire device in 1872.[2][3][4][5] The invention complicated the use of pipes hold down carry water upwards and valves in the ceiling acting because sprinklers to extinguish fires boil buildings.[6]
